About

Welcome to my site. I am a Web content and social media professional living in Chicago. My favorite part about working with the Web is the discovery aspect of it. I revel in finding a solution to better serve the needs of the Web site I may be working. Whether it’s something as simple as diagnosing a technical issue or intense study of analytics to completely overhaul a site, I long for the ‘eureka!’ moment that provides a successful outcome of a project.

So you want to know more?

Balancing interest with unegotistical in this space can sometimes be difficult. This web site is mine, it’s about me, it’s why you’re here.

If you’ve found your way to this page you many want to know a little bit more about me as a person, moreso than professional. My greatest fear? Clowns and people in mascot costumes. Seriously. It stems from an incident at a minor league baseball game involving a man dressed in a big brown dog costume. Did I mention I was 21 at the time? Deep-rooted are my emotions.

In the past two years my life has seen a number of changes. I decided to abandon security and comfort in the form of a cush sports writing job in Oxford, Miss. to venture towards something new. It was a success in the form of The Land Report magazine…..hold up, I’m talking professionally again. Much of my life in recent years has been defined by my professional pursuits, this page won’t be, I promise.

I’m a fan of sports, which comes with the territory. I’ve recently adopted the Chicago Cubs as my favorite professional baseball organization.

In the spring of 2007 I took up triathlon training and found myself consumed with the multi-sport lifestyle. I completed two races last year as well as an assortment of 5K and 10K road races. My dream of completing an Ironman distance race in 2008 was derailed in early March when I suffered a knee injury that was followed by a bout with the flu and a sinus infection. During that eight week layoff I fell out of shape and lost my motivation to train. I’m still trying retap it.

The Internet is a profession as well as a hobby. I take new applications and try to apply them both professionally and personally. I’m a twitter addict and love keeping up with friends on Facebook. While the Internet may be the end of boredom, I find it tough sometimes to pull myself away from the screen. Usually if I can get more than 20 pages into a book, I can finish it. The hook, the first 10 pages, determines whether or not I’ll read the second chapter.

I’m still searching for the one true passion in my life (Beyond my lovely girlfriend fiancee wife). My measure of success will be the day I can teach my child to ski at the lake house that I own. If I can accomplish that, everything else in life should have fallen into place pretty well. Until then I’ll fight the urge to sell all my worldly possessions, buy a jeep and a dog, throw on my Carhart jeans and boots and drive to Colorado to work as a ranch hand.
