A Painless Prep Process

March is Colorectral Cancer Awareness Month so we shot this video to coincide with an awareness campaign surrounding colon cancer screenings. As the video points out, the most uncomfortable part of a colonoscopy is the prep process. NorthShore physicians give their thoughts on what patients can do to ease the discomfort of the colon cleaning process.

Integrative Medicine Benefit Concert

This is probably the best video I’ve shot since I’ve been at NorthShore. The project was a concert featuring Billy Corgan and Matt Walker, both of Smashing Pumpkins fame. The venue was amazing, chock full of great color, great visuals and great sound. My skills with Final Cut Express are rapidly improving and this project really taught me a lot about storytelling, working with audio, some basic titling etc. Overall, a great project and a fun project.

Chicago Blackhawks Visit Evanston Hospital

Colin Fraser and Troy Brouwer visited Evanston Hospital prior a few days before Christmas to pass out toys to children in the Evanston Hospital Pediatric Unit. More than 600 toys were donated at two Blackhawks games for use in the pediatric unit. When children stay on the unit volunteers push around  a toy cart and the patients and siblings are allowed to select a toy that they can then keep. Both Colin and Troy, along with their wives, were excellent to work with during their time there. Shot with a Canon HF200 and edited in Apple Final Cut Express.

NorthShore Drops the Puck on Partnership with the Blackhawks

NorthShore is the Official Healthcare Provider of the Chicago Blackhawks. This was the press conference announcing the partnership. Video was shot using a Flip MinoHD and edited in iMovie. Denis Savard and Stan Mikita were on hand to speak about the partnership and sign autographs with fans.

Information on Colonoscopy

Dr. Monica Borkar was our first true clinical video. We described the process of going through a colonoscopy. We did not film the actual procedure, but focused more on education for patients about what to expect in the days before and after the colonoscopy. Shot using a Flip MinoHD and edited in iMovie. NorthShore Associate Board Bowling Night

The Bowling Night video is the first video ever posted to the NorthShore YouTube account. It was show with a Flip MinoHD and Zoom H4 audio recorder and edited in iMovie. Stock audio compliments of iStockAudio.com’s free song of the week. It turned out okay for a first stab at putting video on the NorthShore site and was my first editing assignment using iMovie.
