Update: I emailed Hudson Group yesterday afternoon after I wrote this post. Their response at the end.

The other night my father-in-law took my wife and me out to dinner. We met downtown and had a wonderful dinner.

Afterward, while waiting for our respective trains at Ogilvie Transportation Center we watched as the Hudson News store prepared to close for the evening. We sat in bewilderment as one of the employees tossed at least 20 PERFECTLY GOOD sandwiches in a large plastic trash bag.
